I’m dreaming of a white Christmas

It’s Christmas Eve and the Christmas holiday is upon us, or maybe it’s a little past Christmas depending on when you actually get to see this.

As I write this, it’s about 63° outside and no snow in the forecast until next week. It just doesn’t seem right to have Christmas without some snow.

Traditionally the month from Thanksgiving to Christmas can be a crazy, hectic time of year. There’s shopping to do, presents to buy, and Christmas baking to be done.

This is also a traditional time for social events and family gatherings.

It’s a time for giving thanks and reflecting on everything that has happened this year.

For me, one of my personal favorites is writing my Christmas letter. It’s a short recap of my year and being able to share some of the highlights and some of the lowlights of the year.

This has definitely been a different kind of year. For most, family gatherings have been minimal. Social interaction has been seriously curtailed.

The simple act of shaking hands or hugging a friend has nearly gone away.

It’s been nearly a year since I’ve been able to see my grandkids. It was the year I was hoping to take a memorial sailing trip in my dad’s honor on his boat.

Overall, it has been a good year and I look forward to the coming new year.

It has been a privilege and an honor to be here with you all. I’ve been humbled throughout the year with your success stories and “Ah Ha” moments.

My all-time favorite story goes like this.

“⁡And she brought forth her first-born Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

⁸Now here were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. ⁚And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. ¹â°Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. ¹¹For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. ¹²And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

¹³And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

¹â´       ”Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Luke 2:7-14

Yes, my favorite story is the Christmas Story and I look forward to reading and sharing it every year.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
